Folklore Skateboards approached me to develop a fresh series of deck graphics that would stand out on shelves while capturing the brand’s playful, culture-driven personality. The goal was to create bold, memorable artwork that spoke to both long-time skaters and new riders discovering the brand.

I explored a range of concepts rooted in pop culture references, humor, and clever twists on well-known brand names. This approach allowed the graphics to feel instantly recognizable while maintaining a distinctive Folklore edge. The design development included:
Sketch exploration across multiple themes
Refining compositions into polished vector artwork
Experimenting with contrasting colorways to ensure strong visual impact

Preparing production-ready files for print and manufacturing

The client loved many of the options provided and commissioned 4x graphic artworks across a variety of different colourways. Decks still to be released.

The client responded enthusiastically to the concepts presented, ultimately commissioning four full graphic artworks, each produced in multiple colour variations.
These designs are currently sitting in the Folklore Vault with deck releases scheduled for an upcoming season.

Folklore Skateboards is an Australian Skate brand which has spent the last 16 years focused on providing Aussie skaters with quality skateboard decks that will have the crew skating longer and for less. Founded in 2004, the company produces quality, value-oriented skateboards and accessories from their home in Western Australia.
